EVSC files Evansville defective product suit

May 27, 2010

Parents and educators alike would agree that properly functioning tools are essential to the success of a school system and its students. Increasingly, the tools needed for such success are computers.

However, computers are just the reason Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation is taking Hewlett Packard to court, according to Tristate Home Page.

EVSC has had many problems with netbooks manufactured by Hewlett Packard, and the school system is filing an Evansville defective product suit as a result.

The netbooks used by students have experienced Evansville defective product issues such as cracks near hinges on the computers and damage to the base areas. When EVSC has contacted HP about the Evansville defective products, HP has been unwilling to fix the problems.

Other vehicles on the road can be a hazard to drivers, but sometimes drivers face dangers with their own vehicles.

WFIE reports a moped driver suffered serious Vincennes auto accident injuries after a crash on Bruceville Road.

The Vincennes auto accident occurred when the 56-year-old man driving the moped approached the intersection at Bruceville Road and Crestview Drive. He had items attached to the moped with a nylon strap which came untied, causing the items to fall from the moped and the strap to entangle with the back wheel. The moped stopped suddenly, and the Vincennes auto accident victim was thrown from it.
