Kentucky DUI victim’s family pushes for new law

March 13, 2008

The family of a Kentucky drunk driving victim is pushing for a law that would keep the driver from committing another DUI crime.

The wife of the Kentucky car accident victim is concerned that the driver who pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 22 years in prison will be allowed to withdraw his guilty plea and request shock probation.

The Kentucky drunk driving victim was killed in a car crash two years ago.

Families of auto accident victims are supporting Senate bill 25 which would not allow shock probation for people involved in fatal drunk driving crashes.

The bill has already passed the Senate and is now in the House Judiciary Committee, but families are concerned that the bill will not be heard before the legislative session is over.
