Man with Parkinson’s files for Kentucky workers’ compensation
January 27, 2009
The Lexington Herald Leader reported that a man who was a tool-and-die worker is trying to get Kentucky workers’ compensation because a solvent used in his work at a factory may have increased his risk for Parkinson’s disease.
Exposure to the solvent trichloroethylene has been associated with anxiety, tremors, rigidity and other symptoms associated with Parkinson’s disease.
The 53-year-old man spent two decades working with trichloroethylene, which has led him to seek Kentucky workers’ compensation benefits.
