New monthly payment amounts for VA disability compensation benefits are announced every year. Outside influences like inflation rates factor into these new amounts, which affect more than 5 million veterans who receive disability checks from the VA.
VA disability ratings are determined by how disabling a veteran’s service-connected condition or combined conditions are.
Below you will find a table of the 2018 VA disability rates for a single veteran with no dependents or additional benefits (such as SMC).

| 100% (or TDIU) | $2,973.86 |
The monthly amount increases for spouses and dependent children and parents for veterans with conditions rated at 30% or more. Veterans with dependents can find their monthly compensation payment rates on the VA’s website.
Veterans may also receive special monthly compensation (SMC) or aid and attendance benefits in certain cases.
