What is Depakote?
Depakote is a prescription medication used to treat seizures, mania from bipolar disorder, and migraine headaches. Depakote also goes by the name divalproex sodium. Depakote contains valproic acid and works by increasing transmission of certain neurotransmitters in the brain.
