Why was there a Zimmer Biomet shoulder recall?
The Zimmer Biomet shoulder recall was initiated by Zimmer Biomet due to an excessive number of fractures in the humeral tray component. The Comprehensive Reverse Shoulder is different than traditional total shoulder arthroplasty systems, the Zimmer Biomet Comprehensive Reverse Shoulder System swaps the humeral head (ball) and glenoid (cup) to the opposite sides of the glen humeral joint.
