Total disability individual unemployability (TDIU) benefits can be temporary or permanent, depending on the severity of your disabilities. The VA will state on your rating decision letter if your TDIU is permanent or not.
TDIU can be terminated if you find substantially gainful employment or if your medical condition improves over time. Your monthly compensation can be reduced from the 100% rate to the payment rate based on your combined rating.
